Oh happy day! Good morning, time for Day 16 of 5MC! Ya know, even thousands of years later God's Word is so pertinent & relative to our lives. As I spend my 5 min each morning I come across so much that seems to be dealing directly with my personal situations. This is the power of God's Word, it SPEAKS to us. This morning I read Matt 19:26 "with man this is impossible but with God all things are possible." If you look at this verse by itself you could take the context & fit it in just about anywhere. I had a wise pastor tell me once that 90% of misquoted scripture can be alleviated by simply reading one verse before & one verse after. In the verse before Jesus is talking about rich people getting to heaven based on their riches & the disciples asked him "who then can be saved?" The point...God's Word is a fabric woven together with purpose, always be sure to read it in its entirety to understand the context for proper application.
