LUKE 8 (from Hong Kong)

Good morning on day 3 in Hong Kong. A full day of training yesterday & camp kicks off today at 3 as several hundred campers arrive from mainland China this morn.

The campus here at Lingnan University is beautiful and set into a quaint community on the outskirts of the city. I'm on the 15th floor of one of the dorms (pic included) and the view is of high rise residential housing and beautiful mountains.

We received our Chinese student teaching assistants yesterday (ALT's) and it's so fun to be able to interact with the students, many of whom have never left China & many have never talked to an American! What a joy to experience the world & it's beautiful people!

This morn in my 5MC in Luke 8:16-18 I study the "lamp under a jar." I love this parable and how vivid of a picture it paints.

The first night we arrived late to the dorms here and as were outside in the dark we were trying to see the room assignment spreadsheet. Now Margie, (always being prepared) had bought & packed us both brand new LED flashlights. She saw the need for light & couldn't wait to use her new flashlight for its intended purpose...to bring light into the darkness so that all can see.

The message here is clear, let your inner light shine onto the darkness in the world. Your hope, joy and peace that comes with the Holy Spirit provides you with all the light you'll ever need. Margie would never have thought of putting her hand over the flashlight! Let the light shine freely, do not hinder the light.

Let your light shine brightly today, "put it on a stand, so that those that enter may see."
